Passover affirms the great truth that liberty is the inalienable right of every human being.
Morris Joseph
Ever since the liberation of the Hebrew people from slavery in ancient Egypt, circa1300 BCE, the annual celebration of Passover, or Pesach is commemorated each year with celebrations lasting 8 days and routed in history, faith and cultural traditions. This year Passover commences before sundown on Saturday April 12 and ends after nightfall on April 20, 2025.
Although I am not Jewish myself, over the years I have been asked by many clients to create, or help them create a special essential oil blend they can use at this time. Creating a special Passover Synergy has always been a wonderful exercise in creating a 'soul blend'. While certainly not as complex as creating an individual personal Soul Blend when deciding on which essential oils to consider for a Passover Blend I turn to the material I studied in Dr. Berkowsky's Spiritual PhytoEssencing to capture the 'soul essence' of the essential oils I choose for a Passover Synergy.
Here is information on a Passover Synergy I've created. It can be recreated or serve as a starting off point for anyone wishing to create their own special Passover Synergy.
The essential oils I choose to include in this synergy are:
Coriander - which is also sometimes considered to be a bitter herb for Passover. In his Spiritual PhytoEssencing Materia Medica, Dr. Berkowsky also makes a correlation between Coriander and Manna and a theme of spiritual faith and the importance of maintaining a connection with it.
Hyssop - In Exodus 12:12 the Jews are instructed to use a bunch of hyssop to touch the blood of the lamb to the door beam and posts to protect their first born. In Spiritual PhytoEssencing, Hyssop is considered to have a theme of protection.
Myrrh - In Exodus 30:22-26 Myrrh is mentioned as one of the ingredients of the anointing blend.
Palmarosa - Dr. Berkowsky suggests that the fragrant cane referred to in Exodus 30:22-25 could have been Palmarosa.
Cinnamon - Cinnamon was another aromatic mentioned in the anointing blend in Exodus 30:22-26.
There are a number of different ways this blend might be used but an easy way to infuse this unique soul energy to a group setting would be in a diffuser or in a mister bottle diluted with perfumer's alcohol. On a personal note, I have always found that the lower my dilution is, the strong the energetic influence, so I tend to use all my spiritual, soul blends at a 1% dilution.
For those interested in Soul Blends, you will find more information on the Soul Blends Information Page.
