Those you love most are divinely protected

Towards the end of each month, I offer a short meditation and healing session posted on YouTube and linked above where I start by drawing a card from Kris Waldherr's Goddess Inspiration Oracle Deck. This month the Meditation and Energy Healing Session is with the goddess Kishijoten. As promised in the video I'm happy to share more information about her here.

Kris Waldherr calls Kishijoten, the Goddess of Protection, with the Keywords: Protection, Beauty and The Arts and the Message: Those you love most are divinely protected. In the introduction to her Goddess Inspiration Oracle Guide she says: Affirmations offer a direct way to put the Divine Feminine into action. They allow us to change negative thought patters, thus freeing us to create a new road map for our lives. Affirmations also empower us to be self-sufficient - since we are giving ourselves positive feedback, we are not so reliant on others for praise. All of her Goddess Messages can easily be changed to an Affirmation. Kishijoten's Affirmation: I know that those I love most are divinely protected.

Kris Waldherr continues:

In Japan, the goddess Kishijoten is acknowledged as a protector of children.  Mothers ceremonially invoke her to watch over their infants and keep misfortune away.  She is also associated with the arts and beauty.  Some believe Kishijoten also protects geishas, since these gifted women practice arts valued by her.

The graceful attributes of Kishijoten stand in start contrast to those of her brother, Bishamon, the god of war.  It is understandable how the desire for protection would arise when confronted by the violence of battle.  Kishijoten offers us hope that those we love most are watched over by divine forces.

According to an article by Gregory Wright, on Mythopedia.com:

Kichijoten is a Japanese goddess of beauty and happiness, and she is sometimes included as one of the Seven Lucky Gods who grant fortune to followers in Japan.  She is a Buddhist version of the Indian goddess Lakshmi. He says: According to Japanese mythology, Kichijoten is an arbiter of happiness, granting fortune, beauty, and fertility to those who believe in her. Because of these attributes, Kichijoten is often perceived as being worshiped primarily by women, as all of her domains intersect with women, and this in part is her inheritance from Lakshmi. Often appearing as a noblewoman, Kichijoten’s style of dress depends on the perceptions of the artist, and she frequently carries a nyoihoju gem, a wishing stone often depicted as a pearl.

A post on Contra.com calls Kichijoten - The Goddess of Beauty and describes her traits as follows:

Kichijoten is known for her compassionate and kind nature, as well as her deep love for humanity.  She embodies the qualities of a loving mother figure, offering comfort and guidance to those who seek her aid.  Her benevolent spirit is rooted in a deep understanding of human desires, and she is driven by a desire to bring happiness and fulfillment to all.

Certainly some food for thought as we allow this Goddess to accompany us on our Meditation and Energy Healing Journey this month.

Blessings to you all!
