YouTube Video Full Flower Moon Meditation and Energy Healing Session with Goddess Gaia

With the Full Flower Moon occurring on May 1st, I decided to postpone April’s Meditation and Energy Healing session to include the energies of the Full Moon as well.  The goddess I chose to walk with us this month is Gaia, Mother Earth.  Join me in the Meditation and Energy Healing Session with the goddess Gaia above.

Kris Waldherr, in her Goddess Inspiration Oracle Deck, calls Gaia, Mother Earth with the Keywords: Creation, The Earth, Connection and the Message: You can create your life.  Envision what you desire it to be.  In the introduction to her Goddess Inspiration Oracle Guide she says: Affirmations offer a direct way to put the Divine Feminine into action. They allow us to change negative thought patters, thus freeing us to create a new road map for our lives. Affirmations also empower us to be self-sufficient - since we are giving ourselves positive feedback, we are not so reliant on others for praise. All of her Goddess Messages can easily be changed to an Affirmation. Gaia’s Affirmation: I create my life as I envision what it is I desire it to be!

She continues:

In ancient Greece, the earth was personified as a mysterious goddess called Gaia.  A cosmic, procreative womb who emerged out of the primeval void called Chaos, it was believed Gaia existed before all other life.  She was also credited with creating life.  Though Gaia was powerful unto herself, she did not choose a solitary existence.  The goddess formed from her womb the sea, which she called Pontus, and the sky, which she called Uranus.  She took Uranus as her husband.  Sky lying upon earth created numerous children with the goddess’s great womb.

The myth of Gaia reminds us of the interconnections of the world – and the importance of living in harmony with its resources, as well as our fellow humans.

Katje Perez, in her Goddess Oracle Deck, Your Empowering Guide To Channel Your Inner Goddess, call Gaia, Greek Goddess of the Earth, with the Keywords: Birth and rebirth; Balance; The cycles of life.  She says that Gaia is the mother of everything, and the bringer of calm wherever she goes.  Her affirmation for Gaia is: Every day is an opportunity to create my world.

In her Goddess Power Oracle Guidebook, Colette Baron-Reid  gives Gaia the Keyword: Earth and her Empowerment Message includes:

Being grounded, slowing down, and remaining present in your body is the message that the Greek goddess Gaia has for you right now.  Perhaps you’ve spent too much time in your head lately and have not taken as good care of yourself as you would have liked.  Get into a rhythm, make sure you get enough sleep, commit to spending more time in nature, and eat sustainably with conscious awareness.  Gaia, the earth, mother of all life, invites you to pay attention to your body for you are a creature of the earth as well as spirit.

You are part of this living earth, which is the foundation for all of life that has a physical form.  What form does your life take?  This is a perfect time to take a closer look to ensure you’re happy with it.  The goddess Gaia reminds you that the earth is the playground for conscious manifestation, so be respectful of this truth.

Patricia Monaghan, in her book The Goddess Path, Myths, Invocations & Rituals gives Gaia the Keyword: Abundance.  In part of her chapter on the Myth and Meaning of Gaia she says:

Gaia was a powerful creator goddess, a parthenogenetic mother who could create the entire world without assistance.  She was all-knowing, as her temple at Delphi attests, for she knew the future as well as the past.

In contemporary science, there is a theory that the earth – soil, water, atmosphere, and living creatures, all together – is a system so intricate and self-regulating that it can be seen as an enormous, conscious, living entity.  The articulator of the theory, James Lovelock, has called it the Gaia Hypothesis. How fitting that, three thousand years after her worship was supressed in her homeland, this goddess’s name should re-emerge to indicate an intuition that the earth is alive.  Alive, and full of enormous generative energy.  Alive, and still as creatively productive as in her primeval youth.

In part of her Suggestions for Invoking Gaia she says:

How many of us grew up with an attitude of scarcity – the idea that there is not really enough to go around, whether the commodity in question is love or money or intelligence or even popcorn?  How many of us still, today, act in fear that we’ll find ourselves lacking.

For those on the goddess path, it is important to function instead from a sense of abundance, from a believe that the universe can provide for us and for all her other children.  Failure to believe in an abundant universe is a recipe for becoming stingy and self-centered.  For how can we be generous to others when we fear that we, ourselves, won’t have enough?

She reminds us that:

Gaia is not in charge of the distribution of her resources.  She creates wealth, whether it be emotional or financial.  She gives to all who ask.  So there is enough.  It’s most often human greed that makes it seem that there isn’t.

She also says:

Invoking Gaia regularly should be a part of an overall effort to begin to believe in the universe as a place of abundance – and to manifest that abundance in your own life.  Abundance, in this sense, does not mean excess.  You are not asking for more than you need.  You don’t have to have ten homes; you only need one.  You don’t have to be adored by the entire world; you only need good friends and a loving companion.  You don’t have to have a hundred pairs of shoes – just enough to live your life in comfort and success.

Thus, the counterweight to Gaia’s abundance is simplicity, for it is much easier to believe in an abundant universe when we ask only for what we need.

In light of the above, as you reflect on your current life situation, what insights might you consider incorporating into your own everyday experience?
