Pelargonium graveolens
The card that popped out for my Sunday Essential Oil Reflection is Geranium. Geranium is for rebalancing. It is also recommended for easing heartache and feelings of abandonment!
Geranium has a strong floral aroma that can be both sedative and uplifting. For some its strongly aromatic rosy notes may need to be toned down, while others find it very comforting. When used in synergies created for depression, anxiety, shock or panic it helps to bring a sense of calm and relaxation to the situation.
Geranium’s very good analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic properties make it a good choice for muscle aches and pains, as well as cramps, both digestive and menstrual. I have found that a 1 – 2% dilution of geranium massaged into the lower abdomen and lower back swiftly takes care of any menstrual cramping. It also has great cellular regeneration and wound healing properties. I have often used it in face synergies I’ve created both in after-shave synergies and face creams and oils.
Energetically, Geranium’s gentle nurturing energy is often very helpful when used ub synergies created around any issues dealing with conflict, heartache and feelings of abandonment.
