German Chamomile for Letting Go

The card that popped out for my Sunday Essential Oil Reflection is German Chamomile.  German Chamomile is for letting go and moving into the flow.

German Chamomile has a sweet, herbaceous, fruity, warm, pungent aroma. It has analgesic, anti-allergenic, anti-inflammatory, carminative, decongestant, emmenagogue, febrifuge, fungicidal and sedative properties.  It has good analgesic properties making it an excellent addition to blends created for headaches and migraines.  It is also effective in synergies created to deal with nervous tension and stressful conditions.  

German Chamomile’s deep blue color is the result of its high chamazulene content.  Chamazulene is a chemical component not present in the plant itself, but produced in the essential oil during the distillation process.  Chamazulene has a strong anti-inflammatory action and imparts this property to the essential oil as well making it very effective for any inflamed and itchy conditions.  It is also very helpful in synergies created for skin care and specific skin conditions.

Energetically, German Chamomile is calming and balancing to the emotions.  It helps to support us in speaking our truth clearly and calmly by helping us communicate without anger, harmful ego or animosity.  German Chamomile helps promote a feeling of peace within one’s self and transform negative feelings of self-disgust, anger, loneliness, abandonment and grief.
