Helichrysum for Compassion

Helichrysum italicum

The card that popped out for my Sunday Essential Oil Reflection is Helichrysum.  Helichrysum is for compassion, it helps reconnect us to our soul!

Helichrysum with its sweet, fruity, intense, spicy aroma has anti-inflammatory, anti-spasmodic, antiseptic, carminative, expectorant, fungicidal, mucolytic and sedative properties. It can be used for depression, nervous exhaustion, migraine, neuralgia and stress related conditions.  It can be helpful in cases of shock and may assist when dealing with phobias.  It has a grounding effect.

Helichrysum has excellent anti-inflammatory and cell regenerating properties.  It is excellent for skin traumas, bruises (both external and internal) and burns.  Also useful for acne, allergies, dermatitis and eczema.  Its analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties are helpful for arthritis, rheumatism, sprains and strained muscles.  It is also helpful in increasing circulation and increasing lymphatic drainage.  Its excellent antiviral, antiseptic and bactericidal properties make it useful for respiratory conditions like asthma, bronchitis, sinusitis and coughs (both spasmodic and chronic), as well as helping one deal with colds, flu and allergies.  

Energetically, Helichrysum can help to dissolve energy blockages.  It promotes compassion for one’s self and others.  It can be especially helpful for the “walking wounded”, those people who cannot reminisce for fear of the painful emotions that may be remembered.  It is also helpful for those who feel that their physical self has lost touch with their soul.
