Citrus x aurantifolia

The card that popped out for my Sunday Essential Oil Reflection is Lime.  Lime is for Refreshing the Mind while it is also antispasmodic, stringent and clearing!

Lime with its fresh, citrus, somewhat sharp aroma, has antispasmodic and sedative properties.  It can be helpful for anxiety, nervousness, depression, exhaustion and stress related disorders.  It has also been suggested that it may be helpful in dealing with alcoholism.

Its anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties are useful for acne, greasy skin, cellulite, herpes, insect bites, spots, varicose veins and warts.  It is an astringent and a deodorant and eases inflammation.  However it can irritate sensitive or damaged skin.  Its decongestant and mucolytic properties are helpful in dealing with coughs and congestion from colds.  Its spasmodic and anti-inflammatory properties can be useful when dealing with muscle spasms and arthritis and rheumatism.  It may also help to stimulate poor circulation.  Like lemon it has antiviral, bactericidal and tonic properties making it helpful for colds, sore throats, flu, fever and viral infections.

Lime helps to refresh a tired mind, it is uplifting, stimulating, cheering, refreshing and restorative.  On an energetic level it can help cleanse traumatic emotions held in the cellular memory of the physical body.
