Mentha x piperita
When choosing the card for my Essential Oil Reflection today, Peppermint was the card that immediately popped out.
Peppermint has anesthetic, analgesic, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory and cooling properties. It is very useful for skin inflammation, neuralgic, joint and muscle aches and pains. It is thought that it can help to activate lymph flow and drainage. Some believe that it can raise blood pressure, while others believe it is helpful with heart palpitations. Its antiviral and bactericidal properties can be helpful when dealing with colds, infections, flu and fevers. It may also intensify the effects of other oils in the same blend. It is very effective for dealing with digestive problems and eases smooth muscle cramps.
Peppermint has been known to activate intuition and the Higher Mind. It can also cool any resistance to embracing new information. Peppermint can help to clarify and promote clarity in communication and concentration.
Peppermint is an essential oil with many effective applications. It is a good analgesic and can be used to good effect in most body systems. It is an oil that is both calming and stimulating at the same time. With its familiar aroma, it is an oil that appeals to many.
Peppermint can be very helpful in bringing clarity, purpose, tolerance and open mindedness to any situation.
