Citrus x aurantium

The card that popped out for my Sunday Essential Oil Reflection is Petitgrain.  Petitgrain is for Optimism, it helps promote awareness and clears perceptions.

Petitgrain has an aroma that is reminiscent of Neroli but not as soft or floral, and with more of a bitter note.  It has calming cheering properties making it helpful when someone needs to convalesce.  It is also helpful for  insomnia, nervous exhaustion and stress related conditions. It is also considered to be useful for panic, anger, confusion, depression and poor memory.

It has anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, calming, balancing and uplifting properties and is safe and gentle.  Its soothing calming properties can be helpful in all of the body systems so consider adding it to blends for conditions that need soothing and calming, including skin problems and muscle aches and pains.  It is an oil that I often added to blends for stress and muscle aches and pains.  Its calming balancing properties can be really helpful and it is an aroma that many enjoy.

Petitgrain has often been found to be helpful when added to synergies designed to help overcome obsessions and addictions as it brings in positive energy and promotes optimism.  It can also promote a healthy self-esteem and trust in one’s self and others.
