Astrologically the Lions Gate Portal is annual event that occurs during Leo when earth, the star Sirius, also know as the Dog Star and the Orion Constellation are in alignment. This alignment occurs between July 28 and August 12th, peaking on August 8. As Sirius is considered by some to be our Spiritual Sun, the 8/8 portal has long been considered to be a powerful time to elevate consciousness and trigger profound transformation. On August 9th we have a Full Moon, the Sturgeon Moon in Aquarius. To round out this information I thought I’d take a look at this information through a few different lenses.
According to my Starcodes Astro Oracle by Heather Roan Robbins, Leo Season has the keyword – Shine. Shine for the benefit of all! Leo’s lion symbol asks you to be brave, be visible, share from your heart, and warm all of those around you. Take your space, be visible, but also honor the light of others. Its gift is Love. Leo rules the heart, so bring your energy and intention into your heart and let this chakra become a beacon. Honor the heart within each person you meet and watch the dynamics shift.
According to the Moonology Oracle Deck by Yasmin Boland, the Full Moon in Aquarius has the key phrase: Show the world the real you. The teaching presented in this card is that every Full Moon is a time to release and let go, but the addition of the Aquarian energy to the mix triples that message. Aquarius is the opposite of clingy. With the elevated consciousness of the Lion’s Gate portal is a good time to reflect and consider what you might need to let go of so that you can move forward and take advantage of the potential transformation made available right now.
As this moon is called the Sturgeon Moon, I thought that it would be interesting to see whether considering the Sturgeon as a Power Animal might add another layer to consider. According to Astrology.com, the sturgeon is considered to be a symbol of longevity, wisdom and perseverance. In many cultures, it is seen as a sacred animal that brings good luck and abundance. As a spirit animal it represents introspection, inner strength and adaptability. As a power animal, it offers protection, courage and resilience. It teaches individuals to trust their instincts, to swim against the current when necessary, and to rely on their inner strength to overcome obstacles.
Finally, to round this out I decided to draw a card from my new deck Archangel Fire Oracle by Alexandra Wenman. The card that popped out for me is Sandalphon. She categorizes Sandalphon as an Archangel of the Russet Ray, all of which are associated with:
Colour/Flame: Deep Red-brown, brown, copper.
Chakra: Earth Star 6 – 8 in. / 15 – 20 cm beneath the feet.
Healing Qualities: Grounding, connection to Earth, being in the ‘now’ moment, clearing Karma, security, balance, love for life, contentment.
Crystals: Jasper, Aragonite, Tiger’s Eye, Copper.
The Message she shares for Sandalphon is:
Surrender your requests and worries to Heaven, so you can make space for positive change.
Wait for a miracle. I am here to receive your wishes, and I am working to help you manifest your hopes into tangible form.
Archangel Sandalphon can help:
To assist us with communication. He helps us to express our words and actions in a kind, gentle but powerful way. He is also particularly helpful when we need to heal aggressive tendencies. Ask for his help when discussions become heated and aggressive.
To help us to live with integrity with our spiritual gifts of prophecy, healing and manifestation fully awakened.
To help us enjoy the present moment.
As the archangel of environmental awareness to guide and teach us about accepting responsibility for our environment both personal and global.
To guide us to experience whatever it is we need to, so that we might find and release the fears that prevent us from claiming our personal power.
