When we consider what the August Energetics of the Full Moon, Flower, Crystal and Essential Oils attributed to a particular month I am always amazed by the additional subtle nuances and insights we can bring to the creation of our essential oil synergies. I do hope that you enjoy the video, its information and my final synergy for the month.

In addition to the August Energetics covered in this video, I would like to add another lens to consider from the Tarot. In Tarot each of the Astrological Signs are associated with a Major Arcana Card so each month I share information about the Major Arcana card that represents the Sun Sign operating for most of that month. An interesting and often effective nuance to consider when looking at the energetics that are all around. Leo (July 22 – August 23) is the Sun Sign we are looking at and its Major Arcana Card is VIII Strength.

VIII Strength

In their book, Around the Tarot in 78 Days, a Personal Journey Through the Cards, Marcus Katz & Tali Goodwin say Strength says: “Look to the willow and see how it bends and flexes against the might of the wind – it is truly strong.  I advocate staying calm in the face of adversity and maintaining composure.”   And the Key Concepts: Appropriate Response and Waking the Lion, Stilling the Beast.

  • The Qualities this card describes include:  Strong in spirit, buoyant, self-disciplined, a survivor.

  • While the potential Shadows highlighted include:  Excessive self-denial, stifling vital emotions, needs, or desires.

  • The Strengths Achieved by consciously working with its energy include: Peacekeeping ability, righting of wrongs, sincerity, inner alchemy, facing of reality, defense of the weak.

  • While potential Weaknesses Revealed include: Hypocrisy, false pride, non-committal, fear of the past, underhandedness, indecisiveness, improper application of power, too much deliberation.

  • Considering Strength’s Numerology, usually written in Roman Numerals VIII, the number eight can be about focus on long-term gain, elucidation, advancement, maturity, mastery, clarity, equilibrium, strength, things falling into place. Displaying our strengths.

  • The Tree of Life is made up of 10 Sefirot and 22 Paths and each of the Paths is associated with a Major Arcana Card. Strength lies on Path 19 Teth meaning the Snake.

This path runs between Chesed and Gevurah and reminds us that Strength represents the connection between mercy and strength and the balance between compassion and discipline. The Strength card represents balancing compassion and discipline, mercy and strength, to harness one’s inner power and courage. It also describes the journey toward self-mastery and the ability to overcome fear and obstacles on the path to spiritual growth.  This path teaches us to balance our emotions and harness our inner strength so that we may act with courage and determination, even in the face of rear and adversity.

  • Energetically, Strength is associated with:

o   Chakra:  2nd Sacral Chakra

o   Bach Flower Remedy:  Leo: Vervain; Holly

o   Crystal:  Citrine

o   Essential Oils:  Rosemary, Juniper Berry, Neroli
