When we consider the energetic influences brought by the Full Moon, Flower, Crystal and Essential Oils attributed to a particular month I am always amazed by the additional subtle nuances and insights we can bring to the creation of our essential oil synergies. I do hope that you enjoy the video, its information and my final synergy for the month.
In addition to the September Energetics covered in this video, I would like to add another lens to consider from the Tarot. In Tarot each of the Astrological Signs are associated with a Major Arcana Card so each month I share information about the Major Arcana card that represents the Sun Sign operating for most of that month. An interesting and often effective nuance to consider when looking at the energetics that are all around. Virgo (August 23 – September 22) is the Sun Sign we are looking at and its Major Arcana Card is IX The Hermit.
IX The Hermit
In their book, Around the Tarot in 78 Days, a Personal Journey Through the Cards, Marcus Katz & Tali Goodwin say The Hermit says: “Leave me alone. I need time away from the noise of the world to find answers. I cannot show you the way, your way is your own. It is for you to look within and find your own purpose in life.” And the Key Concepts: Finding Yourself as Your Own Path and Becoming Your Own Lantern.
The Qualities this card describes include: Alone, private, serious, studious, unhurried, shy, introspective, contemplative, austere, discriminating, an outsider.
While the potential Shadows highlighted include: Feeling isolated, being a shut-in, hiding from others, overthinking, perfectionism, extreme self-absorption or self-denial.
The Strengths Achieved by consciously working with its energy include: Dependability, unselfishness, openness to change, illumination, strong and silent compassion.
While potential Weaknesses Revealed include: Hypocrisy, false pride, non-committal, fear of the past, underhandedness, indecisiveness, improper application of power, too much deliberation.
Considering The Hermit’s Numerology, usually written in Roman Numerals IX, the number nine can be about seeking greater good and learning lessons, culmination, fruition, consequences, attainment, completion, reflection, the end, rest, exhaustion, integration, processing, the final push, fulfillment, release, decline, withdrawal. Reassessment.
The Tree of Life is made up of 10 Sefirot and 22 Paths and each of the Paths is associated with a Major Arcana Card. The Hermit lies on Path 20 Yod meaning the Hand.
This path runs between Chesed and Tiferet and reminds us that the Hermit must balance introspection with action and use their inner wisdom to guide their efforts towards compassion and mercy. It is a reminder to take time for self-reflection and to trust in one’s inner guidance. The path of The Hermit teaches us to balance our inner and outer lives to live with greater compassion, mercy, and wisdom.
Energetically, The Hermit is associated with:
o Chakra: 3rd Solar Plexus Chakra
o Bach Flower Remedy: Virgo: Rock Water; Beech
o Crystal: Peridot
o Essential Oils: Sage, Birch, Caraway
